We created FilmCrewUK in 2014. The aim was to connect with like minded filmmakers across the UK to collaborate on projects. The group slowly grew over the years and in the last year has seen a phenomenal growth, so much so that we decided to be more organised with it and see what features we can offer to really benefit the indie film scene.

in January 2024 we launched the website which allows crew to tag their location and skill/trade and search for other filmmakers in their area. The idea being that we be more sustainable with the indie film makers who do not live in the big cities. To help out those who are often over shadowed.

We also reach out to members who wish to offer training & mentorships to younger film makers and are building a baseline training programme to ensure basic standards are kept and the training is readily available to all for free.

We also offer local casual socials open to all skills/trades/experience levels so we can build a community.

​

On top of this we also publish a monthly magazine where we give the spotlight to random members who may not be great at selling themselves or introverted or just have an interesting story to tell.

To top this off we are also seeking funding for a Short Film Cinema & Film Studio hub that would be free for members to create and open up short films to the general public.
